Arriving in Cape Town

Journal pages are precious here in Africa. I took up the journal in a place called East London, which is ironic because everyone that I have seen here is black, save for my present company within the "pub." Looking back on my stay in Cape Town I arrived there on Sunday, the evening of the 24th of September, 2007. I unloaded my things after a Rikki from the airport and it's about 10pm local time. Trying to stave of jet lag I head directly to the bar and have a Castle. To tired from almost 2 full days of travel, I don't have the will to break the silence, fortunately I am spared from having to do so by the famous Duncan Hallas. He's is in from Mozambique and on his way back to London before he moves to NYC in his work for a VC firm for a spell. He dives, travels and in general knows quite a bit about things. The honorable mention as the first person I met on my travels. My first day in Cape Town in a beautiful, sunny day. Duncan introduced me to a Canadian/Latvian named Karlina who is volunteering at a agricultural village to learn best practices and new advancements in sustainable farming. We all got on quite well, I couldn't have asked for a better start. We head to the beach, which is complete with 3 right whales putting on a show about 50 feet from shore.
